Binance pushes deeper into equities with broker transfers and stock perpetuals

Binance is expanding on two fronts at once: bringing real stock holdings from brokers such as Interactive Brokers into Binance accounts, and listing perpetual contracts tied to Hong Kong and Asian equities. According to the article, users can now submit details such as their full account name and a delivering broker’s DTC number to move real holdings into Binance, while an incentive program running from Aug. 11 to Sept. 30 offers a share of 300,000 USDC for U.S. stock transfers. At the same time, Binance and other major exchanges including Gate, OKX, Bitget, Hyperliquid, Bybit, and Coinbase are broadening stock and index perpetual offerings covering names in Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, and mainland China-related markets. The piece argues that these two tracks serve the same direction: exchanges become a unified venue for trading both tokenized real-world securities and synthetic price exposure, reducing the role banks and traditional brokers used to play in the path between capital and markets. The report also highlights the trade-off. Tokenized equities such as bStocks, issued by BTech Holdings Limited under an Abu Dhabi Global Market framework, differ sharply from USDT-settled stock perpetuals that offer only price exposure. Past regulatory pressure on Binance in 2021 and scrutiny of Robinhood’s tokenized stock products in 2025 show that legal boundaries remain unsettled, especially around whether tokens are backed by real assets and what protections apply in each jurisdiction.

TokenInsight says Q2 crypto exchange volume fell to $16.5 trillion as spot rebounded and TradFi perps emerged as the clearest growth lane

TokenInsight’s review of the crypto exchange sector in the second quarter of 2026 points to a market that is stabilizing after broad deleveraging, but not yet returning to a full-cycle risk regime. Aggregate exchange volume fell 8% quarter over quarter to $16.5 trillion from $17.9 trillion, while the composition of trading changed materially: spot volume rebounded to $4.5 trillion from $3.3 trillion, and derivatives volume dropped to $12.0 trillion from $14.6 trillion. Derivatives still dominated total activity, yet their share fell to 73% from 82%, a sign that spot participation recovered across major venues. The report, based on data from 20 exchanges, also shows market share consolidating further among the largest platforms. Binance extended its lead, raising total market share to 35.34% from 32.77% and posting about $5.85 trillion in volume during the quarter. In derivatives, the top four exchanges accounted for more than 72% of market share. Average futures open interest slipped to roughly $0.08 trillion from $0.09 trillion in Q1, suggesting leverage appetite stayed muted even as trading activity stabilized. Outside crypto-native products, TokenInsight identified TradFi perpetual contracts as the fastest-growing segment. Monthly TradFi perp volume expanded from $52 billion in January to $268 billion in June, with equity-linked perps driving the sharpest increase. Binance, Bitget, Bybit, MEXC and Gate all rolled out tokenized equities, U.S. stock trading, or IPO and pre-IPO products during the quarter.
