MrBeast-linked financial trademarks move forward in the U.S., covering crypto trading and payments

MrBeast’s push into financial services has taken another step in the U.S. trademark process. Records from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office show that Beast Holdings, LLC filed two trademark applications on Oct. 13, 2025: "MRBEAST FINANCIAL" and "BEAST FINANCIAL." Both were published in the Official Gazette on Aug. 11, 2026, and received Notices of Allowance on Oct. 6. The applications remain in the Intent-to-Use stage, meaning the applicant must still submit proof of actual commercial use before final registration can be completed. The filings cover a broad set of services, including mobile banking apps, cash advances and small loans, credit and debit card issuance and transaction processing, investment advice and investment management. They also explicitly include cryptocurrency trading services, crypto payment processing, and cryptocurrency exchange through decentralized trading platforms, or DEXs. The trademark development comes after Beast Industries received about $200 million in investment from BitMine in January, according to BlockBeats. Tom Lee said at the time that the company would explore combining DeFi with the young audience reached by MrBeast. Beast Industries also completed its acquisition of youth-focused financial app Step in February.

GiggleFund Files USPTO Trademark Application for NIANNIAN via Holding Entity

GiggleFund, the official X account of meme token GIGGLE, announced that it has filed a federal trademark application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for its token NIANNIAN through a newly established holding entity, Giggle Holdings. The application covers cryptocurrency exchange, transfer, and trading services and was submitted in the form of a standard character mark, the team said. According to the announcement, the next step is a review by a trademark examining attorney. If the application passes examination, it will enter a 30-day opposition period, after which registration may be granted. The team also noted that, once the trademark is registered, it plans to request the removal of copycat projects from platforms such as Dexscreener and PancakeSwap. GiggleFund stressed that the filing is only an application for record and does not mean the trademark has already been registered. The announcement was made via a post on X, citing the new holding entity's role in the filing.

FlightAware Drops Lawsuit Against Kalshi Over Flight Data

FlightAware, a company that specializes in flight data, has withdrawn its lawsuit against Kalshi, the prediction market platform, just one day after filing the case. In the now-dropped suit, FlightAware had accused Kalshi of using its flight data and trademarks without authorization to support betting markets tied to flight cancellations. The withdrawal does not prevent FlightAware from refiling the case in the future. The case unfolded while Kalshi's aviation-related contracts were drawing criticism on social media, with some users raising concerns that the markets could create incentives for malicious interference with flights. At the same time, retail participation in those contracts has been relatively low. Neither company has offered a public comment about the lawsuit. The case had raised a broader question about whether prediction markets can use third-party data and trademarks without a commercial agreement. In addition, Kalshi is facing other regulatory and legal challenges in several states. CoinDesk reported the case.

FlightAware Sues Kalshi Over Unauthorized Flight Data Use in Cancellation Bets

FlightAware, a flight tracking company, has initiated legal action against Kalshi, a prediction market platform, in a New York federal court. The lawsuit claims that Kalshi, without authorization, used FlightAware's flight data and trademark to build and operate a market for betting on airline flight cancellations. According to the complaint, Kalshi breached the terms of its license from FlightAware. It allegedly continued to use the data to settle contracts even after it received a cease-and-desist notice. Although Kalshi added a disclaimer stating that its market is not endorsed by FlightAware, the platform kept citing FlightAware's data. Separately, Kalshi is also facing other lawsuits brought by the states of New York, Wisconsin and Nevada, which accuse it of running gambling operations without a license. CoinDesk reported the lawsuit.
