Tencent2026-09-30 00:55:15Tencent reportedly tests Handy Bot, a Personal Agent product tied to WeChatTencent is reportedly developing a Personal Agent product called Handy Bot and plans to launch it as a standalone app, according to Dujia, as cited by ChainCatcher. The report says the product has already appeared quietly as a WeChat service account with the description "Your Personal AI Agent," though it remains in internal testing and official details have not been released. The report places Tencent’s move in the middle of a broader industry push around Personal Agent products. Unlike traditional chatbots that rely on direct conversation prompts, Personal Agents are described as operating around a user’s persistent state and continuing to work on tasks in the background after receiving broader goals. Meta’s recently launched Muse is cited as a key example, with each user assigned an isolated Secure VM environment for browser-based tasks such as price comparison, email handling, and itinerary monitoring. The same report says Chinese tech companies are also exploring the category. Alibaba’s Qwen team has discussed building a Personal Agent for users, while ByteDance’s Doubao has reportedly been developing a personal assistant product under the codename Spell. The report adds that commercialization will depend on balancing model planning ability, ecosystem tool access, and compliance and privacy boundaries.310
WeChat2026-09-16 02:41:13WeChat now lets users export chat records to ChatGPT as ZIP packages with attachmentsWeChat has opened another path for moving chat records into third-party AI apps. Tests cited by BlockBeats show that after upgrading the mobile app to version 8.0.78, users can select multiple chat messages and use the "forward to other apps" option to send them not only to Yuanbao and WorkBuddy, but also to apps such as ChatGPT through the system-level app picker. A single transfer supports up to 100 messages. The exported content is packaged by WeChat as a ZIP file. Inside are TXT chat records organized by time, along with related attachments. A similar entry point is also available on the desktop version of WeChat. According to the report, community developers have already built relay tools around this feature, allowing chat records to be sent into AI services including ChatGPT and Claude.510

Through the "Choose apps on this phone" entry, the records can be handed directly to third-party apps such as ChatGPT, with a limit of up to 100 messages at a time. WeChat packages the selected content into a ZIP file that includes a TXT file of chat records organized by time, along with related attachments. Tencent2026-09-14 10:55:00Tencent’s WeKnora adds long-term memory, tool workspace and code execution in v0.8.0Tencent’s WeChat team has expanded its open-source knowledge framework WeKnora with a new v0.8.0 release that adds cross-session long-term memory and rounds out its Skills and code execution stack. WeKnora was originally built to turn enterprise documents into retrieval-augmented generation, or RAG, knowledge bases that support search and question answering. Over time, the framework added Agent, Model Context Protocol, or MCP, and Skills support. In the latest update, WeKnora can store user profile details, preferences, facts and tasks, then call that information back in later conversations. The system does not activate automatically extracted memories by default; users must confirm them first. Skills are now packaged as standalone workspace resources and can be installed from ClawHub, SkillHub, GitHub, GitLab or zip files. During task execution, the agent can also enter Docker, E2B or Cube sandboxes to run commands, read and write files, and send generated files back to the chat window. Admins can restrict which networks those sandboxes may access.1050
WeChat2026-09-14 03:51:01Calif details WeChat zero-click worm built with AI, Tencent says patch and server-side block are in placeCalif, a security company based in Palo Alto, California, said on Sept. 8 that its researchers, working with AI assistance, found a memory corruption flaw in WeChat’s internet voice calling component and turned it into a zero-click worm called WeWorm. According to the report, an attacker only needed to place a WeChat voice call to a target who was already on the caller’s friend list. The victim did not need to answer or interact with the phone for the attack to succeed, and the compromised account could then call the victim’s contacts to keep spreading. Calif said the flaw, if exploited in the wild, could put more than one billion phones or accounts at risk. Tencent released patched versions on Aug. 21, with Android updated to 8.0.77 and iOS to 8.0.76, and Calif said server-side blocking was confirmed effective between Aug. 26 and Aug. 28. The company did not disclose technical details yet and said a full briefing would come at a later conference. No CVE identifier has been assigned. Tencent’s August earnings report for the second quarter of 2026 showed combined monthly active accounts for Weixin and WeChat at 1.439 billion as of June 30.900

Tencent2026-08-13 05:22:41JPMorgan keeps Tencent at Overweight, says AI monetization will be the key testJPMorgan maintained its Overweight rating on Tencent Holdings (0700.HK) and kept its price target at HK$690 in a research note dated Aug. 13, framing the company as being in the middle of an AI investment cycle that runs through 2026 and 2027. The bank said 2026 could mark a low point for earnings growth, with adjusted EPS expected to rise about 2%, before growth recovers to a 10% to 15% range in 2027 as AI monetization starts to offset investment costs. The note pointed to Tencent’s second-quarter results, including revenue of 204.8 billion yuan, up 11% year over year, and non-IFRS net profit of 68.4 billion yuan, up 9%. It also highlighted 22% growth in marketing services revenue, 17% growth in domestic games, and 9% growth in fintech and business services. JPMorgan estimated quarterly spending on new AI products such as Hunyuan, Yuanbao, CodeBuddy, WorkBuddy and Xiaowei at about 10.5 billion yuan, above roughly 8.8 billion yuan in the first quarter. The bank said investors may read flat sequential profit and negative reported free cash flow as signs of stalled growth or cash burn, but argued Tencent’s core businesses still support the current AI push. It is now watching Hunyuan 4, deferred recognition of WorkBuddy paid-tier revenue, and testing and possible commercialization of WeChat agent Xiaowei.1610
