ZODL's Zodl 3.10.1 Fixes Orchard ZEC Residue and Keystone Signing After Ironwood Migration

Zcash Open Development Lab (ZODL) founder and CEO Josh Swihart has published a weekly report detailing the latest fixes and releases across the Zcash ecosystem. The Android version of Zodl 3.10.1 addresses a post-Ironwood migration issue where a small amount of ZEC may remain in the Orchard pool, and also corrects the Keystone migration signing round. On Android and iOS, the 3.10.2 and 3.10.3 releases enhance Coinholder polling with configuration mirror fault tolerance, recovery from interrupted voting, and resumption of Keystone signatures. In parallel, Zcash's Android SDK and Swift SDK have both reached public 3.0.0 versions. Zodl tells iOS users to pause in-app voting until v3.10.2 fix arrives

Zodl, a mobile wallet for Zcash, has told iOS users to stop using in-app tokenholder voting until the team releases version 3.10.2. The warning follows a bug in which an interrupted submission may still register a wallet for the current voting round. Zodl said the fix is being treated as a priority. The team also noted that more than two weeks remain in the voting window, so users do not need to rush to cast a vote before the update is available. For users who see the error message 「wallet already registered」, Zodl said they should contact official support. The wallet provider also advised affected users not to reopen the voting menu, uninstall the app, clear data, reset the wallet, or expose their recovery phrase while the issue is being handled.

More Than 129,000 ZEC Moved Into Zcash’s Ironwood Shielded Pool in One Day

Zcash Open Development Lab (ZODL) said 129,396 ZEC, valued at more than $60 million, were moved into the Ironwood pool in a single day. Ironwood is Zcash’s latest shielded pool and has completed formal verification, with support for independent audits. ZODL founder says Zcash’s original node software zcashd has officially retired

ZODL founder Josh Swihart said zcashd, the original official node software for Zcash, has stopped receiving maintenance as planned at block height 3,417,100. In his post, Swihart said the Zcash network continues running without interruption on Zebra and Zakura, two modern Rust-based node implementations, while the Zallet wallet has replaced the zcashd wallet. He wrote that blocks are still being produced, but the original software that gave life to Zcash has now formally retired after running for 10 years. zcashd began as a fork of Bitcoin Core v0.11.2 and launched the Zcash network on Oct. 28, 2016. According to the post, it marked the first large-scale production deployment of zk-SNARKs and served as an experiment in whether zero-knowledge cryptography could secure real value on a public blockchain. Swihart also said every network upgrade in Zcash history was carried out through zcashd, from Sprout, Overwinter and Sapling to later releases including Blossom, Heartwood and Canopy, as well as NU5 and the Orchard pool, before its retirement ahead of Ironwood.
