Delphi Digita2026-09-30 15:07:37Delphi Digital says tokenized stock race is shifting to distribution and trading costsDelphi Digital said the competitive edge in tokenized stocks is moving away from the mechanics of putting equities onchain and toward distribution strength and execution quality. In a post on X, the crypto research firm said the issuance process has become relatively straightforward: most issuers buy the underlying shares through brokers and then mint tokens against them. That leaves investors choosing between products that offer nearly the same exposure. According to Delphi Digital, the next differentiator is reach. The firms that can place those tokens in front of the largest pool of investors stand to lead the market. That gives exchanges a clear advantage because they already control large trader bases and established distribution channels. The firm added that Binance's bStocks and Kraken's xStocks are two of the three leading platforms, and together with Ondo they account for most of the wrapped stock market share. Still, broad listings alone are not enough. Delphi Digital said wide distribution only matters if token trading remains cheap, because investors will choose the version that offers the best price. In its view, the eventual winners will be the issuers that combine the broadest reach with the deepest liquidity.120
Circle2026-08-05 17:08:26Circle says it has more than 150 distribution partners as it addresses Open USD Alliance competitionDuring Circle’s second-quarter earnings call, Citi analyst Pete Christensen asked how the company plans to compete for distribution after the launch of the Open USD Alliance. The question focused on a market where reserve-yield sharing is becoming a standard industry practice and where Circle is also constrained by its existing economic arrangement with Coinbase. In response, Circle co-founder and CEO Jeremy Allaire said the company has signed distribution agreements with more than 150 firms and often works with Coinbase on joint distribution efforts. He pointed to a revenue-sharing arrangement with Hyperliquid reached jointly by Circle and Coinbase as one example. Allaire also said about 70% of companies that have expressed interest in participating in this type of alliance project are already part of the Circle network. On the same day as the earnings release, Circle also announced expanded cooperation with Visa and Mastercard, which will serve as key infrastructure partners for Arc.1730
Circle2026-07-31 14:31:59Circle Faces Another Pressure Point as Distribution Partners Keep Their EdgeAlex Xu argues that Circle’s latest challenge is not simply competition among compliant stablecoins, but the growing bargaining power of distribution channels. In his view, as the number of stablecoin products expands, exchanges, merchant networks, wallets, card issuers and even AI terminals gain leverage over issuers rather than lose it. He points to remarks from Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, who said the company will renew its revenue-sharing agreement with Circle next month on the existing terms. Under that arrangement, Circle still gives Coinbase half of its profits outside Circle-owned channels, while profits generated by USDC held on Coinbase remain with Coinbase. The article also cites two recent examples. Under a new agreement between Hyperliquid and Coinbase, Hyperliquid will take 90% of reserve income from USDC already on the platform. Robinhood Chain, an L2, is promoting USDG issued by Paxo rather than USDC, and the author says this has had little impact on user growth and activity, even though USDG returns 97% of channel revenue to Robinhood Chain. Xu extends that argument to traditional payments and Agent payments, where he says Circle may face even weaker pricing power against entrenched distribution networks and users who do not care which compliant stablecoin handles settlement.590
