Zano rolls back 30 days of blockchain history, deploys hotfix as updated network stabilizes
Privacy blockchain Zano said it has deployed a hotfix for the inflation bug that occurred last Friday, and that the network is now running stably on the updated chain. Before that, the project rolled the chain back to block height 3,833,000, wiping 30 days of previously confirmed transaction history. Zano said third-party wallets, exchanges, and payment service providers must first update their nodes to the new chain before transfers of ZANO and assets issued on Zano can safely resume. Service providers will announce their recovery progress through official channels, while a recovery process for affected users is still being prepared. In a post on its official X account, Zano added that users can now update the iOS, Android, and desktop wallets, and that more details on recovery steps will be released soon. ZANO, the network’s native asset, is down 32% this week and 40.6% since the start of 2026, according to Bitcoin.com News.
