Elliptic says Binance hack proceeds were sent through Bitcoin mixing for the first time

Blockchain analytics firm Elliptic said it has identified what it described as the first instance of Binance hack proceeds moving into Bitcoin mixing. According to the report, the company traced roughly 12,000 wallets across 11 blockchains linked to the case. Elliptic also estimated that the remaining balances still connected to the hack stand at $3.24 billion. The report was published by The Defiant, which cited Elliptic’s findings on the movement of funds and the scale of the wallet tracing effort.
