Switchboard suspends oracle services on SUI, Aptos and other networks over potential security risk

Oracle provider Switchboard said it has suspended its oracle operations across several blockchain networks, including SUI, Aptos, IOTA and Movement, after detecting a potential security risk. The company described the move as precautionary and said the disruption is limited to Switchboard’s own oracle services rather than the underlying blockchains. Block production on the affected networks has not been interrupted. Switchboard said applications that rely on its price feeds or related services may be affected. That could include DeFi protocols in areas such as lending, perpetuals and structured products. At the same time, the company said there is currently no evidence of any loss of funds or of the chains themselves being attacked. The incident remains under investigation, and Switchboard said it is still assessing when services can be restored. The update was carried by Techub News, with NewsBTC cited as the source in the input provided.

KuCoin Ventures weekly report flags crypto washout under high funding costs and tighter liquidity

KuCoin Ventures said in its latest weekly report that the market is reassessing crypto projects through balance-sheet quality, governance, real revenue and cash burn rather than headline funding rounds or token narratives. The report pointed to Movement Labs and Storj Labs, both now in Chapter 11 proceedings, as two different stress cases: one tied to token launch structure and internal controls, the other to legacy debt and long-running operating pressures. It argued that the broader shakeout is not just about highly funded projects failing, but about capital efficiency from the previous cycle being tested in a harder financing environment. The report also focused on macro conditions. Brent crude briefly moved back above $100 a barrel, shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea remained disrupted, and U.S. Treasury yields rose as markets priced inflation risk alongside fiscal and term-premium concerns. In crypto, Bitcoin briefly touched $65,504 on July 27 before slipping back toward $65,100, while spot Bitcoin ETF trading volume fell to about $8.05 billion for the week, the lowest for a full trading week since October 2024. Ethereum spot ETFs, by contrast, posted about $103 million in net inflows, topping Bitcoin ETFs for a second straight week. KuCoin Ventures also highlighted stablecoins and private funding. Global stablecoin market capitalization stood at about $310.36 billion, while Galaxy Research data showed roughly 355 crypto funding deals totaling about $4 billion in the first quarter of 2026, with around 57% going to later-stage projects. Among recent deals, Augustus raised $180 million in a Series B at a $1 billion post-money valuation.

Weekly project roundup: Worldcoin sells WLD at a 36% discount, Movement files for bankruptcy

This week’s project developments span token sales, shutdowns, hacks, protocol upgrades, and new product launches across crypto and adjacent sectors. Robinhood Chain reached $700 million in onchain assets three weeks after launch, with $430 million in stablecoins and about $500 million in TVL. Worldcoin Foundation sold 217.4 million WLD to institutions including Pantera Capital for about $52.5 million, implying a price near $0.24 per token, roughly 36% below the current market price, with a one-year lock-up. Movement has filed for bankruptcy after its onchain apps generated less than $800 in daily revenue for an extended period since last November, while daily chain fees stayed in the single digits and were just $1 over the past 24 hours. In another major incident, Wanchain’s Cardano bridge was hit by a suspected exploit that moved roughly 515 million NIGHT, valued at about $9 million, out of the bridge vault. Elsewhere, Stripe is in advanced talks to acquire OpenRouter at a valuation that could reach $10 billion. Odos said it will shut down operations and permanently close all services on July 30. Uniswap introduced a v4 Hook standard for permissioned pools, LayerZero partnered with Keeta on tokenized bank-deposit transfers, PumpFun’s developer posted a growth leadership role with a base salary of up to $1 million, and Jito launched the self-custodial Solana trading platform JTX.

Balance Coin crashes over 99% in oracle exploit as Zilliqa halts native transfers over Ledger flaw

WuBlockchain’s daily crypto news roundup highlighted several developments across the market, led by a sharp collapse in algorithmic stablecoin Balance Coin after an oracle pricing flaw was exploited. The token fell from nearly $1 to about $0.0014, wiping out almost all of its roughly $3.5 million nominal market value. SlowMist said the attacker manipulated the protocol oracle by feeding in an abnormally low Bitcoin price, which caused the lending contract to liquidate vaults that should not have been liquidated and generated about $912,000 in profit in a single transaction, with the funds sourced from Balance Protocol governance entity 42DAO. Elsewhere, trading activity at South Korea’s five largest crypto exchanges fell about 89% year over year, while Kraken parent Payward is working with GTN to expand xStocks to include Hong Kong-listed shares, followed by UK, European and South Korean stocks pending regulatory approval. Movement has filed for bankruptcy, and Zilliqa has suspended native transactions after disclosing a critical Ledger app nonce-generation bug that could allow private keys to be recovered from public signatures. Upbit later placed ZIL under a trading warning designation and suspended deposits and withdrawals.
