xm39 expands long-oil, short-Nasdaq trade to $48.2 million, cumulative profit nears $980,000
Trader xm39 has continued to scale up a long crude oil and short Nasdaq strategy, according to xm39 monitoring data cited by Odaily. Since a major portfolio adjustment on Aug. 17, the combined size of the two positions on Hyperliquid has risen from about $17.606 million to $48.209 million, an increase of roughly $30.6 million, or 173.8%.
The WTI long position grew from $7.299 million to $12.833 million, with about $5.069 million bought during the period. After WTI fell 1.5% today, xm39 added another $1.561 million at an average price of $85.38. The blended entry price now stands at $81.80, and the position is showing an unrealized profit of about $535,000.
The Nasdaq short position climbed from about $10.307 million to $35.376 million, with net exposure increasing by about $25.529 million. That position is currently up about $195,000, while repeated rebalancing generated another $250,000 in realized profit. Combined unrealized profit across both positions is about $730,000, and total profit for this round of the trade is close to $980,000 after realized gains are included. xm39 has also placed about $10.6 million in take-profit orders between $89.39 and $90.42.
At the same time, the account remains in a losing war-related bet on Polymarket, holding 1.5654 million Yes shares on 「The U.S. will invade Iran before 2027」 after spending about $364,600. The position is down about $106,300, with a return of -29.1%, and has increased by about 254,000 shares since the previous update.
