Michael Saylor Responds to Index Exclusion Fears: ‘Strategy Is Not a Fund, Our Conviction in Bitcoin Is Unwavering’
Michael Saylor took to X to push back against reports warning that Strategy could face billions in passive outflows if MSCI removes the company from major equity indices. He emphasized that Strategy is an operating company with a $500 million software business and a unique Bitcoin treasury strategy, not a fund, trust, or holding company. JPMorgan analysts estimate potential outflows of $2.8 billion to $8.8 billion. Saylor also detailed $7.7 billion in digital credit securities offerings, including the Bitcoin-backed $STRC. Meanwhile, the broader crypto market crashed on October 10, partly attributed to MSCI’s review of crypto-heavy companies. Saylor reiterated his vision of building a trillion-dollar Bitcoin balance sheet and transforming global finance through Bitcoin-backed credit products. Bitcoin currently trades near $80,000, down from its $126,000 all-time high six weeks ago; MSTR stock is at $167.95, down over 5% on the day and 15% over the last five days.
