1kx projects blockchain industry revenue at $100 billion in 2026
Investment firm 1kx said in its annual blockchain revenue report that total industry revenue is projected to reach $100 billion in 2026. The report said the figure would be down about 28% year over year because of falling crypto asset prices. It also said institution- and real-economy-related business now accounts for about 30% of blockchain industry revenue. In the third quarter of 2026, revenue tied to the real economy exceeded blockchain infrastructure revenue for the first time. 1kx added that the share of total industry revenue generated by listed companies rose from 7% in 2022 to 16%, while a record 283 protocols returned value to token holders in Q3 through buybacks, burns, or fee-sharing mechanisms.
