Al-Ittihad are set to host Al-Ain on Monday at the Al-Inma Stadium in Jeddah in the fourth round of the AFC Champions League Elite league stage. Al-Ittihad go into the game chasing back-to-back wins.
Midfield selection
According to Saudi newspaper Arriyadiyah, Jens Wissing has opted to start Dion Lopy in midfield to cover for Richard Rios. The report added that Mukhtar Ali will play alongside Lopy in midfield, with Houssem Aouar in a more attacking role.
Rios injury
Rios is injured and the injury rules him out of the Al-Ain match. He hurt the joint of his left foot eight minutes into Friday's clash with Abha in the twelfth round of the Roshn League.
Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat reported that Rios will also miss the trip to Neom on Friday in the thirteenth round of the Saudi Roshn League.
Group standings
Al-Ittihad have one win, one defeat and one draw and are eighth in the West Group on four points. Al-Ain are top of the West Group with nine points from their opening three matches.
Al-Ain's opening three matches included a 4-0 win over Al-Nassr in the first round.
