Arsenal have multiple injury concerns and a suspension issue before their match against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday. Declan Rice, Riccardo Calafiori and Noni Madueke were all absent from Arsenal's matchday roster for Tuesday's Carabao Cup defeat to Fleetwood Town.
Arteta outlines latest absences
Arteta told Sky Sports after the club's Carabao Cup exit was confirmed on penalties: "Riccardo was out, Noni was out with an ankle and Declan Rice finished with a problem the other day."
Rice was forced off against Everton last weekend and that may affect his availability for Arsenal's match with Liverpool on Sunday.
Saka and Saliba updates
Bukayo Saka damaged his left quad in last week's Champions League draw with Bayern Munich.
Saka is set to be sidelined for at least six weeks.
William Saliba has not featured this season since undergoing surgery on a persistent back problem.
Arteta has described signs of Saliba's recovery as "very, very positive" but has not offered a return date.
The end of November has been put forward as a vague target for Saliba.
Tzolis remains uncertain
Christos Tzolis sustained a thigh problem while on international duty with Greece in the fall.
Tzolis was ruled out for around three weeks.
There is some hope that Tzolis could play some role on Sunday, but his status remains uncertain.
Dowman appeal faces doubt
Max Dowman was sent off against Fleetwood after kicking out at Harrison Neal.
There is no VAR at this stage of the Carabao Cup.
Dowman was found guilty of violent conduct.
Arsenal could secure Dowman's availability by appealing his red card against Fleetwood. Former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher was not optimistic about their case, telling Sky Sports: "I think it will fail."
Gallagher also said: "Because of the aggressiveness of Dowman, and you can see the intent."
