Bayern Munich had three players go off injured in a 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund, with concerns over Ismael Saibari and Serge Gnabry.

Bayern Munich were forced into three injury substitutions in their 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund, leaving the side with fresh fitness concerns after the match. Ismael Saibari, Serge Gnabry and Michael Olise all failed to finish the game.

Two first-half injury changes

Saibari was replaced by Nathaniel Brown after going down injured. After the match, he left the dressing room on crutches. Vincent Kompany's stand-in Aaron Danks said there was a suspicion of a "more serious ankle injury" for Saibari.

Gnabry went off in the 31st minute and Josip Stanisic replaced him.

Olise appears to have avoided a serious issue

Olise was replaced by Lennart Karl in the 84th minute after beginning to limp and signalling to the Bayern Munich bench that he needed to come off. He left the dressing room without any aids and walked slowly through the mixed zone.

According to Eberl, Bayern Munich do not expect a serious diagnosis in Olise's case.

Eberl on the injuries and Bayern's response

Board member for sport Max Eberl said after the final whistle: "Right now, what is happening to us feels pretty intense," He also described the situation as "very costly".

In the mixed zone after the final whistle, Eberl said: "Both injuries are fairly significant, though I can't give an exact diagnosis yet."

He also said: "We have a lot to process right now, including conceding just before the end today. The team have to be very resilient at the moment. So far, they have shown that in an incredible way. But we will have to keep doing so in the coming weeks."

Asked how Bayern Munich intend to tackle the challenges of the coming weeks given their many injured players, Eberl said: "We will not withdraw. We will not pull out of any competition."

Bellingham goal ruled out

Jobe Bellingham's goal was disallowed by referee Tobias Stieler after a VAR review because Chukwuemeka was offside.
