Juventus director Giovanni Carnevali delivered a stern dressing-room speech on 29 October after a 2-0 defeat to Genoa, and coach Luciano Spalletti then ordered a retreat before Juventus host Napoli on Sunday at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.
Carnevali addresses the squad
Sky Sport and Gazzetta report that Carnevali gathered the squad at the club's training ground on 29 October and addressed the players in a harsh speech. Juventus CEO Carnevali also confronted the team on Thursday, the day after the 2-0 Serie A loss to Genoa.
Retreat begins on 30 October
According to Gazzetta and Sky, Juventus will prepare for the match against Napoli at a training retreat at Continassa. The retreat will start on 30 October and will last two days until the next game against Napoli.
How the retreat will work
Players will train at their training centre and sleep at the club's hotel after training sessions on Friday and Saturday. Spalletti made the decision, backed by the club.
Juventus league position
Juventus have already lost three of nine Serie A games and sit 11 points behind table leaders Inter and Lazio.
