Hansi Flick said he is concerned about Barcelona captain Raphinha's November call-up by Brazil for friendlies in Asia because of the travel and physical toll. GOAL reported that Brazil are scheduled to face Japan and Singapore in November.
Talks with Deco
Flick said: "It's something I've discussed with Deco. He's a very important player. Before the last break, he arrived injured, and it wasn't the best situation. But in the end, that's how it is, and we can't do anything about ita."
Position on the call-up
Flick said: "He's our captain, but he's also Brazilian, and when his national team calls him up, he has to be there. Especially because the Brazilian national team is going through a new phase after the World Cup, and I think everyone wants to be present and contribute to helping the team."
Travel and playing time
Flick said: "If we can reduce his playing time a bit, I'll be happy. The round trip to Singapore isn't ideal, but it's not something I can control and change." GOAL reported that Raphinha's upcoming international commitments will involve a round trip to Singapore of around 22,000 kilometres.
Previous injury
GOAL reported that Raphinha suffered a muscle injury during a friendly against Australia in Brisbane on September 29. GOAL reported that the injury against Australia forced an early return to Spain.
