Football Italia reported that Fiorentina are prepared to listen to offers for David De Gea before the end of the season. According to FirenzeViola, Fiorentina are reassessing their options in goal, with De Gea's form under scrutiny for a second straight campaign.
Vanoli's position on De Gea
Paolo Vanoli said before the trip to San Siro: "He’s my captain, full stop. De Gea is not up for discussion."
Context after the Inter match
Football Italia reported that De Gea produced a superb display against Inter. Marcus Thuram and Piotr Zielinski turned the game around in stoppage time against Fiorentina, and Inter beat Fiorentina 2-1.
At that point, the defeat had left Fiorentina 18th with four points from eight games.
Goalkeeping alternatives under consideration
Football Italia reported that Fiorentina are already looking at alternatives. Tommaso Martinelli is one internal option. The 20-year-old is on loan at Serie B side Avellino with an option to buy.
Fiorentina hold a counter-option on Martinelli should director Fabio Paratici decide to bring him back. River Plate's Santiago Beltrán is also on Paratici's list. The 22-year-old is under contract until December 2027, and River want around €20m for him.
Inter and Premier League and Bundesliga clubs are circling Beltrán. Lazio's Christos Mandas was sounded out in the summer, without success.
