GOAL reported on 1 November that Hansi Flick pushed Barcelona's move for Karim Adeyemi through earlier than planned. Citing Sport, GOAL said the transfer was accelerated during the summer window and completed a full year ahead of schedule.
The move was brought forward
According to Sport, Barcelona had tracked the German international winger for a long time. GOAL reported that a Spanish report claimed on Sunday 1 November that waiting until the end of Adeyemi's Borussia Dortmund contract in the summer of 2027 would have given Barcelona a major strategic and financial win.
According to Sport, Dortmund were alert to Adeyemi's plans for the following season. According to Sport, Dortmund warned Adeyemi that if he stayed without renewing a contract that was running down, he faced a strong chance of a season in the stands or almost no minutes at all.
Flick's role
According to Sport, Flick admired Adeyemi greatly and drove the deal through. According to Sport, Flick knows Adeyemi's qualities from their time together across Germany's various age groups.
According to Sport, Ferran Torres's exit to Paris Saint-Germain opened the door further and left a gap in Barcelona's front line.
How Barcelona completed it
According to Sport, Barcelona moved to sign Adeyemi early and opened talks with Borussia Dortmund. According to Sport, with one year left on Adeyemi's deal, the price came down and the move was done.
Adeyemi's numbers and next match
GOAL said Adeyemi had made 13 appearances totalling 452 minutes. GOAL said Adeyemi had scored 4 goals, two in LaLiga and two in the UEFA Champions League, and had 3 assists, all of them domestic.
GOAL said the numbers came ahead of the Alavés clash.
