Jack Grealish was left out of Everton's squad again as Everton faced Newcastle in the Premier League on Tyneside. It came shortly after an internal disciplinary breach, with the club saying he was not match fit for the trip to St James' Park.
Left out again for Newcastle trip
Grealish was not part of the travelling party to Tyneside for Everton's second meeting with Newcastle in the space of five days. Everton say Grealish was left out for the trip to St James' Park because he was not match fit.
Why he had already been absent
Grealish had been in contention to return after missing Everton's defeat to Arsenal on Saturday, which was put down to illness. He was then absent for Everton's 3-1 Carabao Cup win over Newcastle at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Thursday as punishment for skipping Everton training when he was not authorised to do so.
Moyes makes two changes
David Moyes made two changes from the team that beat Newcastle on Thursday. Tyler Dibling and Hayden Hackney dropped to the bench, Jarrad Branthwaite returned to the side, Jake O'Brien moved to right-back and Merlin Rohl moved forward. Harrison Armstrong started alongside James Garner in midfield.
Grealish's second loan spell
Grealish is in his second spell on loan at Everton. Grealish rejoined Everton on loan on transfer deadline day. He has made 6 appearances since rejoining Everton and has not scored. Hackney got a goal and an assist in the win over Newcastle on Thursday.
