Steven Gerrard said on 2 November he would personally take Trent Alexander-Arnold back at Liverpool, but is unsure it suits the current group and manager.

On 2 November, Steven Gerrard said he is unsure whether bringing Trent Alexander-Arnold back to Liverpool would be the right move for the current group and manager. Gerrard made the remarks on The Overlap Daily.

Gerrard's personal view

The former Reds captain said: "Ability and talent-wise, the success he’s had, I would say yes. But the ending and that still being a bit raw. I would, yes, myself personally, so I won’t sit on the fence because that’s poor from me."

Doubts over the current group

Gerrard said: "Do I think it’s the right thing for this group, this manager and where Liverpool are right now? I’m unsure. Does he make Liverpool’s team and squad better? Ability and talent-wise, 100 per cent. I’m just not sure it’s right for the group right now."

Reported link back to Liverpool

CaughtOffside reported that Trent Alexander-Arnold has been linked with a return to Liverpool after struggling to establish himself as a regular starter at Real Madrid. CaughtOffside also reported that Alexander-Arnold left Liverpool for Real Madrid.
