CaughtOffside, citing Football Insider, reported that Leeds United are hoping to sign Porto defender Zaidu Sanusi during the January transfer window. The report added that Leeds believe they could secure Sanusi for a reduced fee because of his contract situation at Porto.
Sanusi's contract and appearances
Sanusi is 29 years old and his contract expires at the end of the current campaign. He has 29 Champions League appearances.
Leeds' left-back situation
Gabriel Gudmundsson has impressed since arriving at Leeds in 2025. Daniel Farke wants more competition at left-back.
Previous interest and current season
CaughtOffside reported that Leeds had considered moves for Sanusi during the previous two transfer windows. Sanusi has featured more regularly this season after limited league involvement last term.
What Leeds will do next
Leeds will continue monitoring developments before deciding whether to formalise their interest.
