The Daily Mail said Manchester United have shown interest in Barcelona midfielder Fermín López, while CaughtOffside named Pablo Barrios as another option.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United have shown interest in Barcelona midfielder Fermín López as they explore attacking additions ahead of future transfer windows. Bruno Fernandes returned to the starting XI against Chelsea, but Manchester United lost 2-0, extending their winless run to nine matches.

United's options

Fermín López is 23 years old and plays in midfield for Barcelona. The report says he can operate as a No.10, central midfielder or wide attacker.

CaughtOffside reported that Atlético Madrid midfielder Pablo Barrios is another option Manchester United are monitoring. CaughtOffside also reported that Manchester United have joined Chelsea in pursuing Fermín López.

What Flick said

Speaking earlier this year, the Barcelona coach Hansi Flick said: "He can change games, and that’s what we need."

Flick also described Fermín as "fantastic in front of goal".

Barcelona's stance and reported valuation

Fabrizio Romano described Fermín López as “absolutely untouchable” and said Barcelona view him as crucial for both the present and future.

Romano said Fermín López is happy at Barcelona and recently signed a new contract.

The Daily Mail report said Fermín López is valued at around £70million. The Daily Mail report also said Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are among Fermín López's admirers.
