David Moyes said on Monday that Jack Grealish still has a way back at Everton, but he does not know when the player will return to the team. Grealish was unavailable for Everton's 1-0 Premier League win at Newcastle.
Moyes addresses Grealish's status
Moyes said: "He's unavailable at the moment and we will make a decision with the club when we think that availability comes back."
When asked whether it was indeed related to fitness, he added: "All I'm giving out is that he is unavailable at the moment."
And when pressed over whether the disciplinary issue is over with, Moyes said: "No, I can't comment on that."
But when asked if there was a way back for him at the club, Moyes said: "Of course there is."
Two absences against Newcastle
Grealish missed both of Everton's wins over Newcastle in the past week after a disciplinary issue. The 31-year-old Manchester City loanee was left out of Thursday's 3-1 victory in the Carabao Cup after what was thought to be an unauthorised absence from training.
Monday match and Everton's explanation
Grealish was also absent for Everton's Premier League meeting on Monday at St James' Park, where Everton won 1-0 with Thierno Barry scoring the only goal. Everton said Grealish was absent on Monday because of a lack of fitness.
Coventry availability unclear
Everton's next match is at home to Coventry on Friday at 20:00 GMT. Moyes was unsure whether Grealish would be available for Everton's match against Coventry on Friday.
