Football365 reported that Pitchwise Holdings had reportedly agreed to purchase a 42% stake in Valencia at a valuation of €1.25 billion. Football365 also reported that the figure is the enterprise value of the club, while Valencia are reportedly carrying approximately €700m of debt.
Deal and valuation
Football365 reported that Pitchwise Holdings had reportedly agreed the transaction for the 42% stake. Valencia’s last published accounts recorded revenues of €103m.
Nou Mestalla plans
Construction of the Nou Mestalla began in 2007 and it will only open its doors next summer. Club executives have claimed that matchday revenue will increase by almost €40m, largely due to the addition of 20,000 in capacity.
Club executives are also projecting that the new stadium will attract non-matchday events, such as concerts, conferences and business events, which will add a further €8 million in revenue.
Current situation
Football365 said Valencia is currently in a relegation fight, with one win in 10 games. Football365 also said protests against Peter Lim are a regular feature of matchday at the Mestalla, and that Peter Lim has been Valencia's incumbent owner since the 2014 takeover.
