PSV and Feyenoord drew 1-1 in an Eredivisie match in Eindhoven on Sunday, a result that kept Feyenoord's 4-point lead over PSV intact. Lutsharel Geertruida also faced Feyenoord for the first time since his move to PSV.
How the match unfolded
Guus Til opened the scoring for PSV. Anis Hadj Moussa equalised for Feyenoord 54 minutes in.
Geertruida goal ruled out
A Geertruida goal for PSV against Feyenoord was ruled out because Ivan Perisic was offside in the build-up.
Chants before kick-off
GOAL reported that footage from Voetbal Ultras showed Feyenoord supporters chanting "C*ncer Geertruida, olé" from the away end at the Philips Stadion ahead of the match.
Geertruida's earlier comments
At his unveiling by PSV at the start of this season, Geertruida addressed the difficult situation. He said: "I don’t expect everyone to understand or accept that decision straight away."
He added: "But I hope that, in time, there can also be room to see how much love, gratitude and respect I continue to feel for Feyenoord."
He also said: "That is why I want to make one thing very clear: my decision to join PSV is not a decision against Feyenoord. I will never forget what Feyenoord have given me, and it will always remain part of who I am."
