Tottenham were dealing with several injury concerns before their Premier League game against Crystal Palace on Saturday. Spurs had taken seven crucial points from their last three league matches as they prepared for the fixture.
Maddison facing tests
James Maddison started Spurs' 2-0 win over Chelsea after being a doubt for the game, but he was forced off in the second half with a groin issue. TEAMtalk, citing The Standard, reported that Maddison was set to undergo tests on his latest injury problem before the Palace match. TEAMtalk, citing The Standard, also reported that his return date was unknown. TEAMtalk reported that Maddison was seen walking unaided after the victory over Chelsea.
Udogie and Adarabioyo latest
Before the Chelsea game, Roberto De Zerbi said of Destiny Udogie: "[Udogie] is not available. With the medical staff, we are trying to find the best way for him. But after Manchester United, I have not worked with him, and it is a problem." TEAMtalk reported that a return date of November was predicted for Udogie.
TEAMtalk reported that Tosin Adarabioyo could be back in the Tottenham squad for the game against Palace. Adarabioyo played in his first start for Spurs against Coventry a week-and-a-half earlier. De Zerbi suggested before the Chelsea game that the calf issue Adarabioyo sustained was not too serious.
Bergvall and Mudryk timelines
Lucas Bergvall had been unavailable since Spurs' draw with Manchester United. Earlier in October, De Zerbi said: "Bergvall had a problem in Manchester early on in the first chance he created for Solanke. He felt pain in his knee but felt fine and on Sunday he came to the training ground and he’ll be out for two weeks." TEAMtalk said De Zerbi had already suggested Bergvall could return for the Palace game.
Mykhailo Mudryk remained on the sidelines with an ankle injury. He had made just one appearance so far this season. TEAMtalk, citing The Standard, reported that Mudryk could be back in early November. TEAMtalk, citing The Standard, also reported that he could be involved for Spurs' away game at Leeds United on November 7.
Longer-term absences
Wilson Odobert, who sustained an ACL tear in February, could finally be back in action in December. Xavi Simons, who sustained an ACL tear in April, was likely to be out until early 2027.
