The Saudi Pro League has postponed the Roshn League's 13th round, which had been scheduled for 5 to 7 November. The move comes as part of a review of the season calendar after the 2027 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia was rescheduled.
League statement confirms delay
The League confirmed in a statement on its official website that the 13th round of the Roshn League has been postponed. It said the decision forms part of a wider review of the season's calendar.
Asian Cup dates were changed
Saudi Arabia is hosting the 2027 Asian Cup. The Asian Football Confederation said the tournament had been pencilled in for the Kingdom between 7 January and 5 February 2027, but will now run from 23 December 2027 to 21 January 2028.
The Confederation said it reached that decision after consulting the local organising committee and the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, citing the exceptional circumstances in the region along with the logistical complications and travel disruptions they have caused.
What the review covers
The League said officials want to use the extra room created by the continental tournament's new dates to redistribute fixtures across the rest of the campaign, striking a better balance between match dates and the players' recovery and rehabilitation.
GOAL reported that a workshop with the Roshn League clubs will follow, where the proposed changes to the competition schedule go up for discussion and the clubs get their say on how the rounds are distributed and the calendar is shaped.
No new date yet
The League says it will confirm the fixtures once the review is complete, and no new date for the 13th round has been set.
