The Fixed Location Behind Circus Circus Coin Slot Questions

Straight-line distances from Circus Circus to major reference points

The question of whether Circus Circus still has coin slots cannot be answered from the venue's location alone, but the venue's fixed position is the one part of the question that never changes. Circus Circus Las Vegas sits at 36.13694444 north latitude and -115.16333333 west longitude, in Winchester, Nevada. The table below lists every documented straight-line distance from that fixed point to the reference cities in the public record for this venue.

Why straight-line distance is not your travel distance

Every figure in the table above is a great-circle measurement, which is the shortest path across the surface of the earth between two coordinate points. It ignores terrain, water, roads, borders, and the actual shape of the transportation network. A road trip from any of those cities to Circus Circus will always be longer than the straight-line figure, and the difference can be substantial where mountain ranges, large bodies of water, or sparse highway networks force a route to swing far off the direct line.

This article does not publish road mileage or driving time for any pair. Road distance depends on the exact origin point within a metro area, the route chosen, construction, and the mode of travel. A reader who needs that number should measure it in a mapping application with their own starting address entered, because no fixed reference table can answer a question that begins with "from me."

Where Circus Circus sits

Circus Circus Las Vegas is located on the northern Las Vegas Strip in Winchester, Nevada. Winchester is an unincorporated town in Clark County, immediately adjacent to the city of Las Vegas. The venue's coordinates place it north of the Las Vegas city center and west of Henderson, within the same broad valley that contains the bulk of the Las Vegas metropolitan area.

The venue opened on October 18, 1968, without a hotel. A 15-story tower with 409 rooms was added in 1972. When it opened, the casino originally had 19 blackjack tables, two roulette wheels, eight crap tables, and 686 slot machines. The property is owned and operated by Phil Ruffin.

What the coin-slot question is really asking

Whether Circus Circus still has coin-operated slot machines is a question about the venue's current floor configuration, not its location. A venue's machine mix changes over time as equipment is replaced, and no fixed geographic record can state what is on the floor today. The documented figure of 686 slot machines describes the casino as it was when it opened in 1968, not the present machine count or whether any of those machines accept coins.

The authoritative current answer lives with the property itself. A reader who wants to know whether coin slots are still on the floor should check the venue's own published floor information, contact its guest services channel, or ask at the players club desk on arrival. The answer can change without notice and is not a geographic fact.

What to confirm before you go

Several items about Circus Circus are changeable and should be confirmed through the venue's own published channels before a reader travels. The current slot machine mix, including whether any coin-operated machines remain, is one of them. The venue's operating hours, any entry policies, and the availability of specific games are also subject to change.

The fixed items are the coordinates, the city and state, the opening date, the owner, and the documented historical figures for rooms and machines. Everything else is a live operational detail that belongs to the property's current publications, not to a distance explainer.
