24-Hour Crypto Liquidation Overview
According to Coinglass, total liquidations across the crypto market reached $174 million over the past 24 hours. Of that amount, liquidated long positions accounted for $71.1399 million, while liquidated short positions totaled $103 million. The higher short-side figure suggests that bearish positioning faced stronger pressure during the latest round of market volatility.
From a derivatives flow perspective, the distribution indicates that the move during the observed window was more damaging to traders holding short exposure than to those positioned long. While the dataset does not by itself explain the cause of the move, it clearly shows an imbalance in liquidation losses between the two sides of the market.
BTC and ETH Accounted for a Large Share
Breaking the figures down by major assets, Bitcoin saw $9.7551 million in long liquidations and $22.1575 million in short liquidations. Ethereum posted $13.749 million in long liquidations and $34.7389 million in short liquidations. In both cases, short liquidations were substantially larger than long liquidations.
This made BTC and ETH two of the most significant contributors to total market liquidations during the period. Ethereum, in particular, posted the larger liquidation totals among the two major assets listed in the report, with short-side losses notably exceeding long-side losses.
Liquidated Traders and Largest Single Order
Coinglass data further shows that 65,864 traders were liquidated globally in the last 24 hours. The largest single liquidation order occurred on Binance - BTCUSDT, with a reported value of $2.7283 million. This points to continued concentration of liquidation activity in highly liquid benchmark trading pairs on major centralized exchanges.
