Aave V3 Arrives on Monad: Asset List and Deployment Details
Aave has officially deployed its V3 lending protocol on the Monad mainnet, with an initial market supporting 12 assets: USDT 0, USDC, Aave stablecoin GHO, USDe, mUSD, AUSD, WETH, cbBTC, wstETH, weETH, syrupUSDC, and sUSDe. The inclusion of USDT 0 (a token specific to Monad's ecosystem), alongside major stablecoins, wrapped ETH, liquid staking derivatives, and wrapped Bitcoin, provides a diversified borrowing and lending environment.
First-Ever Chainlink SVR Activation: Recapturing MEV for the Protocol
A critical innovation in this deployment is that Aave has enabled Chainlink's Smart Value Recapture (SVR) mechanism from day one. SVR is designed to redirect a portion of the maximal extractable value (MEV) generated during liquidations back to the lending protocol, rather than allowing it to be fully captured by miners or validators. This mechanism potentially reduces user liquidation costs and increases protocol revenue. It represents a significant step in aligning oracle infrastructure with DeFi economics.
Joint Incentive Commitment: Monad Foundation and Aave DAO
To bootstrap liquidity and usage on Monad, the Monad Foundation has pledged $15 million in incentives over the first 12 months. Additionally, the foundation agreed to purchase 10 million GHO tokens and hold them for at least six months, providing direct demand for Aave's native stablecoin. In parallel, Aave DAO has allocated 500,000 GHO as incentives to support applications built on Monad. This dual commitment signals strong alignment between the two ecosystems and provides a solid liquidity foundation for Aave's expansion.
Market Impact and Strategic Significance
As a leading decentralized lending protocol by total value locked (TVL), Aave's multi-chain strategy continues with Monad. The network's parallel EVM architecture offers high throughput and low latency, attractive for DeFi applications. The integration of Chainlink SVR not only enhances Aave's economic security but also sets a precedent for MEV value redistribution across other protocols. The $15 million incentive package is substantial compared to typical cross-chain launches and is expected to attract significant liquidity and user migration. Overall, this deployment strengthens Aave's multi-chain presence while positioning Chainlink as a key enabler of value recapture in DeFi.
