Alibaba has launched QoderWake 1.0, a platform that transforms AI agents into digital employees for enterprise workflows. The system features 10 pre-defined roles (frontend, backend, product manager, data analyst, content operator, etc.) and supports custom role creation. The key upgrade in version 1.0 is team collaboration: multiple Wakers can join a group, tasks are split by responsibilities, and a cooperative SOP defines the execution order. For instance, a product manager Waker writes requirements, a developer Waker writes specs and code, and a tester Waker runs tests, with failures returned to the developer. QoderWake integrates with DingTalk, Feishu, and WeCom, allowing group discussions to inform subsequent tasks. Tasks can be triggered manually, via schedule, business events, or API. Over the past three months, nearly 100,000 Wakers have been created, executing about 20 million effective tasks, half of which were auto-triggered.

QoderWake 1.0 Enables Team Collaboration for Digital Employees

Alibaba has rolled out QoderWake 1.0, a tool for setting up AI agents as "digital employees" and dropping them straight into actual enterprise workflows. A user can describe a job role in one sentence, and the system will automatically produce a role draft.

Right now, the platform includes 10 pre-defined roles: frontend developer, backend developer, product manager, data analyst, and content operator, plus support for custom roles. The big shift in version 1.0? Multiple digital employees can now work together in teams. Different Wakers can enter the same group, and the system breaks work apart by responsibility, using a cooperative SOP to spell out who handles what, when it happens, and who needs to approve it.

Say a product manager Waker writes requirements. Then a developer Waker handles technical specs, code, and unit tests. A tester Waker runs the test cases. If the tests fail, the task goes back to the developer for changes. Pretty close to how real teams work.

QoderWake works with DingTalk, Feishu, and WeCom. Group chat discussions, along with confirmed decisions, can carry over into later tasks. Tasks may be triggered manually through an @-mention, or kicked off automatically through scheduled tasks, business events, and API calls. High-risk operations get intercepted and need human authorization.

By official figures, in the past three months, nearly 100,000 Wakers have been created, carrying out around 20 million effective tasks. About half of those tasks were triggered automatically by schedule or events.
