Altcoins posted broad gains on Sept. 6, with Layer 2, DeFi and DEX tokens leading the move, according to HTX market data cited by BlockBeats. Trading activity on Robinhood, BNB Chain and Solana was described as a key backdrop for the sector-wide advance.
L2 and DeFi tokens outperformed
In the L2 segment, ARB led the gains, followed by OP, STRK and IMX. In DeFi and DEX, RAY, ORCA, JUP, UNI, SUSHI, CAKE, CRV, SPK, LISTA and ENA all moved higher. The report said funds had started rotating back into DeFi projects with trading demand and fee-based business logic.
On BNB Chain, BOME, 1000CAT, MARSCOIN and TUT also advanced after BNB broke above $780.
Altcoin season index rises to 40
The altcoin season index climbed to 40 on the day. That means roughly 40 of the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization outperformed Bitcoin over the past 90 days. Total altcoin market capitalization also rose to $1.10 trillion.
Top movers and related protocol updates
ARB was up more than 51% over 24 hours and last traded at $0.1997. Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum L2 based on Arbitrum Orbit, is required to allocate 10% of net protocol revenue to the Arbitrum ecosystem, with 8% going to the DAO treasury and 2% to the development fund.
RAY gained more than 42% in 24 hours to $1.177. Solana token launch platform StonkFun said it had gone live on Raydium LaunchLab. From that point, all new StonkFun token deployments would be launched through LaunchLab to lower deployment costs, reduce sniping risk and enable automatic liquidity compounding after bonding is completed.
SUSHI rose more than 24% over 24 hours to $0.2385. SushiSwap had already integrated its DEX and issuance platform into Robinhood Chain in July, allowing new tokens to be paired with tokenized stocks and to launch with a Sushi V3 pool from day one. Around Sept. 4, SushiSwap Launch V2 went live, allowing the SUSHI token to be used as the quote asset on the issuance platform.
Other gainers
BOME, IOST and 1000CAT each rose more than 20% over 24 hours. COTI, TUT, CAKE, SPK, UNI, STRK, MET and ORCA were up more than 10%, while CRV, ENA, IMX, JUP and LISTA also posted notable gains.
