Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) crossed the $1 trillion market cap mark for the first time during U.S. trading, according to MSX.COM data, as the stock rose 9.5% intraday and moved above $613 per share. The jump put AMD among the semiconductor companies worldwide with valuations above $1 trillion. The move came as AMD has kept increasing its push into AI computing capacity. The company has expanded cooperation with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Meta, while also launching the MI400 series GPUs and the Helios rack-scale AI system. Its data center business has posted rapid growth. MSX.COM data also showed that AMD shares are up 186% so far this year. At the same time, rival Intel gained 10.89% on the day to $120.430 per share, giving it a market capitalization of $636.6 billion.
