Anchorage Digital said it has integrated the TRON network, allowing institutional clients to custody TRX on its regulated platform. The company said the move extends secure, institutional-grade custody and related infrastructure to the TRON ecosystem, which is governed by TRON DAO.
The initial phase centers on TRX custody. Later stages are expected to add support for TRC-20 assets and native TRX staking, giving institutions a compliant way to hold tokens issued on TRON and interact with the network’s validator infrastructure.
TRON usage metrics featured in the announcement
In the release, TRON was described as one of the most widely used blockchain networks globally, with more than 370 million total user accounts and an average of 10.1 million daily transactions. The network also has more than $85 billion in circulating onchain USDT, a figure highlighted as evidence of TRON’s role in stablecoin issuance and transfers.
TRON DAO added that, as of March 2026, the blockchain had recorded over 371 million total user accounts, more than 13 billion total transactions, and over $24 billion in total value locked, based on TRONSCAN. The release also said TRON had until recently hosted the largest circulating supply of USDT, which currently exceeds $86 billion.
Executives focus on compliance and onchain value transfer
Anchorage Digital co-founder and CEO Nathan McCauley said TRON has become a critical part of how value moves onchain, especially in global stablecoin flows. He said institutional access to networks such as TRON needs to come with the security, compliance, and operational standards expected in financial services.
TRON founder Justin Sun said institutional access to blockchain infrastructure is entering a new phase. He described TRON as a network built for high-throughput digital asset activity, from stablecoins to everyday payments, and said trusted regulated infrastructure is essential as institutions deepen their participation.
Anchorage highlights its regulated operating structure
Anchorage Digital said its platform serves institutions across trading, staking, custody, governance, settlement, and stablecoin issuance. It described Anchorage Digital Bank N.A. as the first federally chartered crypto bank in the United States. The company also pointed to its licensed Singapore entity, its New York business holding a BitLicense, and its self-custody wallet Porto.
The company said Anchorage Digital Bank also offers fiat custody services through an FDIC-insured licensed sub-custodian. According to the company profile included in the release, Anchorage Digital is backed by Andreessen Horowitz, GIC, Goldman Sachs, KKR, and Visa, and carries a valuation of $4.2 billion.
