Ant Group is running a limited internal test of a personal agent feature for its AI assistant Lingguang, according to BlockBeats. The updated version adds a "My Life" page centered on long-term memory and proactive task execution, shifting the product beyond basic chat and lightweight app generation. The feature set described in the report lets users assign ongoing tasks such as tracking product prices, following travel plans, and managing vaccination reminders. Rather than waiting for prompts each time, Lingguang can send notifications when changes occur. The test version also supports connections to external apps and smart home devices. In one shared demonstration, a user identified as Saibo Chanxin said Lingguang connected to 13 devices in his home through an open-source Mijia interface. He then had the assistant create a household device manual and successfully call a Xiaomi printer to print it. The report adds that the new build can connect to services including DingTalk through Skill and MCP, a protocol used to link external tools. The personal agent capability had reportedly been in preparation for about half a year, went through several rounds of iteration, and is planned for full release in October this year.

Ant Group’s AI assistant Lingguang is in limited testing for a personal agent feature, according to BlockBeats, as the product moves closer to Meta Muse in direction.

The new version adds a "My Life" page focused on long-term memory and proactive task handling. Based on the details disclosed, users can ask Lingguang to keep watching product prices, track travel plans, and manage vaccination reminders, with the assistant sending notifications when something changes.

External apps and smart devices are part of the update

The update also supports links to external applications and smart devices. A demonstration shared by Saibo Chanxin showed Lingguang connecting to 13 devices in his home by installing an open-source Mijia interface. He then asked Lingguang to generate a household device manual, after which it successfully called a Xiaomi printer to print the file.

The new build can also connect to services including DingTalk through Skill and MCP, a protocol for linking external tools.

Feature preparation started about half a year ago

The report said the related functions began preparation about half a year ago and went through multiple rounds of iteration. A full rollout is planned for October this year.

Before this, Lingguang mainly offered AI chat and one-sentence generation of small applications. The latest test shows the product starting to shift toward a personal AI agent that can keep handling tasks for users over time.
