WhiteLine Daily, published by WuBlockchain, highlighted a cluster of major financing and capital-markets developments tied to the AI sector. The report said Anthropic, developer of Claude, is nearing a decision on Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs as lead underwriters for an initial public offering and could publicly file as soon as next week. The company’s discussed valuation is about $2 trillion, while the Financial Times said its annualized revenue in July was about $65 billion, below some investors’ prior expectation of around $80 billion. The same digest said ByteDance has obtained roughly $30 billion in financing, with Reuters putting the size at $29.6 billion from nearly 30 banks. The loan is unsecured, carries a three-year term with a possible two-year extension, and more than 60% of the facility was contributed by Bank of China. People familiar with the matter said the funds are mainly expected to support AI spending, including chip purchases and data-center construction in Southeast Asia. Elsewhere, Bloomberg reported that UK-based AI cloud infrastructure firm Nscale is seeking up to $3.5 billion in pre-IPO financing, including as much as $1.5 billion in convertible debt and a potential roughly $2 billion investment from Nvidia. WhiteLine Daily also noted that Bloom Energy will join the S&P 500, while Dell Technologies, Palo Alto Networks, Arista Networks and Sandisk are being added to the S&P 100.

WhiteLine Daily, a digest published by WuBlockchain, outlined several large AI-related funding and market moves involving Anthropic, ByteDance, Nscale and Bloom Energy.

Bloom Energy to enter the S&P 500, while four tech names join the S&P 100

On Sept. 5 Beijing time, S&P Dow Jones Indices announced its quarterly index rebalancing. Bloom Energy (BE), Illumina (ILMN) and Everpure (P) are set to join the S&P 500 before the market opens on Sept. 21.

Bloom Energy makes on-site power equipment, with fuel-cell systems as its core product. The report said it is supplying on-site electricity to AI data centers including Oracle, offering power capacity without waiting for large-scale grid expansion. After the announcement, Bloom Energy rose about 6% in after-hours trading.

In the same round of changes, Dell Technologies, Palo Alto Networks, Arista Networks and Sandisk will be added to the S&P 100. The companies span AI servers, cybersecurity, data-center networking and storage.

Previously disclosed U.S. congressional financial filings showed that Paul Pelosi, the husband of U.S. Representative and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, bought a total of 15,000 shares of Bloom Energy in July. He also bought 200 call options expiring in June 2027 with a $100 strike price. The transactions took place before the index changes were announced, though the report said there is no evidence linking the two.

FT: Anthropic nears underwriter selection for IPO, with filing possible next week

According to the Financial Times, Anthropic, the developer of Claude, is close to selecting Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs for central underwriting roles in its IPO and could publicly file its prospectus as soon as next week.

Anthropic is described as one of the world’s major frontier AI model companies, serving enterprises and developers with Claude large language models, coding products and agent offerings. The company’s potential valuation in the listing discussions is about $2 trillion. A roadshow and listing could move ahead as early as late September to early October, though the timing remains subject to change.

The Financial Times also reported that Anthropic’s annualized revenue in July was about $65 billion, below the roughly $80 billion some investors had previously expected. If the company ultimately goes public at close to a $2 trillion valuation, it could rank among the largest technology IPOs in history and would mark a first for public equity investors directly pricing the current revenue, future growth and heavy compute spending of a major frontier-model company.

ByteDance secures roughly $30 billion in borrowing

The Information reported that ByteDance has obtained roughly $30 billion in loans, the largest financing of its kind for the company to date and an increase from the originally planned roughly $20 billion.

Beyond TikTok, ByteDance operates AI applications including Doubao, develops its own large models and the Seedance video-generation model, and provides model and compute services to enterprise customers through its cloud business.

Reuters said the specific loan size is $29.6 billion, provided by nearly 30 banks. The financing carries a three-year term with an option to extend for two more years and is unsecured. Bank of China supplied more than 60% of the total facility.

The funds are nominally earmarked for general corporate purposes, but people familiar with the matter said they are mainly expected to support additional AI spending, including AI chip purchases and data-center construction in Southeast Asia. The report said the deal is second in size only to the roughly $40 billion loan SoftBank raised this year to finance its investment in OpenAI.

Nscale seeks as much as $3.5 billion ahead of an IPO

Bloomberg reported that UK-based AI cloud infrastructure company Nscale is seeking up to about $3.5 billion in pre-IPO financing. Nscale builds and operates AI data centers, GPU clusters and related software platforms, providing large-scale training and inference capacity to model developers and enterprises.

The financing package includes up to about $1.5 billion in convertible debt and an effort to secure an investment of about $2 billion from Nvidia. Those talks have not been finalized. Goldman Sachs is involved in the fundraising, and Third Point is expected to lead the convertible-debt portion.

The conversion terms imply a valuation of as much as about $30 billion. That compares with the company’s $14.6 billion valuation in March, when it completed a $2 billion Series C round.

Nscale has told potential investors that its contract backlog has reached about $103 billion. That figure includes a previously signed six-year, $45 billion AI compute contract with Anthropic.

WhiteLine Daily’s takeaway

The digest said financing channels for AI companies remain open across IPOs, bank borrowing and strategic capital. Anthropic is preparing for a listing, ByteDance has raised roughly $30 billion in debt, and Nscale is still adding capital ahead of an IPO. At the same time, Bloom Energy’s addition to the S&P 500 pushes AI-linked power assets deeper into mainstream index-fund allocation.
