ARK Invest and tokenization firm Securitize said on Sept. 24 that they have tokenized the ARK Venture Fund (ARKVX) on Ethereum, opening the product to eligible U.S. investors who want to subscribe with USDC and hold the position in their own wallets.
According to Securitize’s ARKVX page, the fund token gives investors blockchain-based access to a vehicle that has held both private and publicly traded companies since its launch in September 2022. ARKVX is structured as a registered closed-end interval fund.
Securitize’s page showed that the fund had $1.3 billion in net assets as of June 30. About 62% of the portfolio was allocated to private companies.
ARK’s holdings file showed that, as of Aug. 31, SpaceX was the fund’s largest named position at 7.54%. Prediction market Kalshi ranked next at 5.81%, followed by OpenAI at 5.26% and Anthropic at 3.86%.
Cathie Wood, ARK’s founder, CEO and chief investment officer, said in the release: “Based on our research, tokenization has the potential to reshape fundamentally the way that investors access and participate in both private and public financial markets.”
How investors buy the token
To subscribe, investors need a verified Securitize account, a wallet approved in advance, and USDC for payment. The minimum for a first investment is $500, while later additions can be as small as $5.
Each deposit is subject to a 2% transaction fee before pricing at the fund’s end-of-day net asset value. The fund also charges annual expenses of 3.49%, or 2.90% after fee waivers.
Securitize Markets purchases the ARKVX shares that sit behind the token and keeps those shares with custodian BNY Mellon. Securitize said each token is backed one-to-one, and tokens are delivered to the buyer’s wallet on the next business day.
Quarterly liquidity remains the same
Securitize said the token carries the same quarterly liquidity terms as the fund itself. Holders exit through quarterly repurchase offers capped at 5% of outstanding shares, and redemption requests may be prorated.
For now, transfers are restricted. Holders can send the token only to other investors already verified by Securitize.
Securitize also listed decentralized exchange trading and use of the token as DeFi collateral as features that are “coming soon.” The offering is currently available only to U.S. investors.
Launch timing and market backdrop
Carlos Domingo, CEO of Securitize, said in the release that the launch shows asset managers can use tokenization to move established investment products onto modern capital markets infrastructure.
ARK announced a strategic investment in Securitize in October 2025. The rollout arrived one week after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission granted an innovation exemption for trading tokenized stocks onchain, and one day after Blockchain.com and the New York Stock Exchange signed a memorandum of understanding to offer tokenized stocks to Blockchain.com users.
