Australia's financial intelligence agency AUSTRAC has suspended Cryptolink's VASP registration for three months starting Sunday, forcing the digital asset ATM operator to halt its bitcoin ATM operations. The regulator said Cryptolink failed to meet basic reporting obligations, including submitting threshold transaction reports and responding to information requests. The suspension follows a court-enforceable undertaking signed in October 2025 and a A$56,300 penalty notice earlier issued for late reporting and inadequate risk assessments. Cryptolink operates 96 ATMs across Australia, mostly in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

AUSTRAC, Australia's financial intelligence agency, has suspended Cryptolink's registration as a virtual asset service provider (VASP) for three months, effective Sunday. The suspension means the digital asset ATM operator's bitcoin ATMs cannot operate during this period.

AUSTRAC said Cryptolink failed to satisfy basic reporting requirements, notably by not submitting threshold transaction reports and not responding to information requests. The regulator also said it continues to scrutinize Cryptolink's ability to manage high-risk transactions processed through cryptocurrency ATMs.

The action comes after Cryptolink entered into an enforceable undertaking with AUSTRAC in October 2025. Earlier, the Cryptocurrency Taskforce found the company had allegedly submitted transactions late and had shortcomings in risk assessments. AUSTRAC issued a penalty notice of US$56,300, which Cryptolink has already paid.

The company operates 96 ATMs across Australia, with most located in major cities including Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
