Axie Infinity Announces Land Item Contract Migration
Axie Infinity said it will migrate its Land Items to a new smart contract that supports REP-15. According to the project, the upgrade is intended to prepare for its integration with Terrariums. The migration is scheduled to start at 15:00 on July 7 and will continue until the process is fully completed.
During the migration window, Land Items will continue to maintain the ERC-721 standard. However, Axie Infinity noted that Land Item-related trading and usage will be temporarily paused to ensure the migration is carried out in an orderly manner. Normal trading and utility will resume once the migration has been completed.
What Will Happen During the Migration
The project stated that all currently listed Land Items will be delisted as part of the migration process. In addition, active items will be locked while the transfer to the new contract is underway. This means users will not be able to trade or interact with affected Land Items during the migration period.
After the migration is finished, the system will mint replacement items in equal quantity and return them to users’ wallets with the same token IDs. Axie Infinity emphasized that no user action is required. The team said it will publish a separate update once the migration is complete and Land Item trading and usage have fully resumed.
