Fund managers lifted their exposure to U.S. stocks

A Bank of America survey of global fund managers for August showed stronger confidence that U.S. equities will outperform other regions this month.

Twenty-seven percent of respondents said their allocation to U.S. stocks was above the U.S. weight in global benchmark indexes. That suggests they expect American shares to do better than other markets.

The reading was the highest since December 2024 and was up 3 percentage points from 24% in July.

U.S. equities have outperformed Europe this year

So far this year, U.S. stock indexes have generally done better than other markets. The S&P 500 is up 13% year to date, while the Stoxx 600 has gained 10%.

Even so, the report said U.S. stocks have still lagged Japan and South Korea this year.
