According to Protos, an anonymous X user named "Slippage" published a lengthy thread alleging that crypto figure Bastille has been doxxed and accusing him of rape, financial manipulation, and refusing to cover part of their medical costs after a car crash.
In the thread, Slippage said Bastille’s real name is William Edmund Bateman.
Slippage says they met Bastille in July 2024 and soon launched tokens together
Slippage said they first came into contact with Bastille in July 2024 through a group chat and soon began launching cryptocurrencies together. The two later formed a close relationship, but Slippage alleged that Bastille began accusing them of "farming his coins" and stealing $40,000. According to Slippage, Bastille later found out that the money had been taken by one of his close "guys."
Slippage said the pair met several times after that. During one meet-up in Japan, they alleged that Bastille got drunk, became "aggressive," called them names, and eventually fell asleep on the floor. They also said the two went to a casino at one point, where Bastille allegedly left them alone while "weird gross men" harassed them.
Thread describes token launches as joint rug-pull "cooks"
Despite those incidents, Slippage said they continued launching tokens together and described the process as "cooks." They said Bateman came up with the ideas while they handled "the art, design, content and videos, Twitter, dex and bundle."
Slippage alleged that even though the work was effectively a joint venture, Bastille would tell them they did not deserve the money. In the post, they wrote: "On one coin we made some money and he kept about 85% of profits. Even though I had no sleep for approximately 40 hours and was working while he was sleeping."
They added: "Sometimes he didn’t pay me at all, so i was genuinely surprised when we split 50/50."
Allegations include repeated lies, aggression, and sexual coercion
Slippage alleged that Bastille repeatedly lied about his finances and would become extremely angry when they launched coins with other people.
"When Bastille lost money on perps or slots he took his anger out on me," they wrote. "He shouted, threw things around and became very very aggressive. I had to hide in another room and cry."
Slippage also accused Bastille of pushing them into sex against their will and carrying out sexual acts they did not want. "My words, discomfort and boundaries were not enough for him to stop," they wrote. "I couldn’t defend myself. I was scared he would leave."
They said they had anxiety and panic attacks almost every day for about a year and were afraid of Bastille, afraid to ask for anything, afraid to bring up what had happened, and afraid to ask to be paid for projects they worked on together.
Slippage also alleged that Bastille kept the relationship hidden, refused to split rent evenly, and frequently made them pay for things despite making seven figures. They said he also lied about "normal everyday things" and often made cruel comments about their appearance and lifestyle.
Split was followed by renewed contact and a crash in Norway
According to Slippage, the relationship deteriorated further after Bastille sold a coin from one of their launches too early and then had what they described as a major crashout. Slippage said they later discovered he had been speaking negatively about them to other people and had shared "private photos" with others, with plans to distribute them through one of his social channels.
The two eventually split. Ten days later, Slippage said, Bastille contacted them again and asked for another chance. They decided to go to Norway together, where a BMW the two were traveling in allegedly crashed while Bastille was driving.
Slippage says crash left them with six spinal fractures and about €50,000 in medical bills
Slippage said the crash left them with six fractures in their spine, a ligament injury, a lung contusion, a disc protrusion, and a concussion. They said they had to wear a brace for three months.
According to Slippage, the medical bills came to about €50,000, or roughly $57,000. They said that when they asked Bastille to pay €6,000, or about $6,800, toward a Norwegian hospital bill, he agreed but never paid.
Slippage also shared photos of the crash and said the accident happened while Bastille was driving.
"He saw my pain, anxiety, sleep problems and physical limits," Slippage wrote. "But instead of support I got anger, arguments about money, silence and more broken promises. He also was trading in my kitchen while I was crying in my bed alone for days."
Slippage says leaving was difficult because of emotional and financial ties
Slippage said Bastille continued to hound them after the breakup and found ways around the blocks they had put in place.
They said leaving was difficult because they kept believing promises and romantic gestures that followed the abuse. They also wrote that the two were tied together through projects, money, and people in crypto, and that a large share of the money they made was under his control.
"I stayed because I was emotionally attached, financially connected and scared," Slippage wrote.
They said Bastille’s alleged conduct eventually pushed them to reveal his identity. "Since he doesn’t give a single fuck about what he did, the only thing I could do is to bring some balance to the universe," they wrote. "Do with this information whatever you want."
