Investment firm Bernstein said in a report that the expanded 48-team 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will open in North America, is expected to bring as much as $10 billion in consumer transaction volume to sports betting and prediction markets. Bernstein analysts said the tournament could become a turning point for prediction markets and online sports betting platforms, accelerating the growth of venues such as Kalshi and Polymarket.
