Binance co-founder He Yi posted a long statement on X on April 10, directly responding to a series of accusations made by OKX founder Star Xu against CZ and Binance. In that post, she organized her rebuttal around what she called six allegations, with the sharpest criticism focused on what she described as personal attacks targeting a professional woman.

The dispute escalated after CZ’s memoir release

The latest round of the conflict began after CZ released his memoir Freedom of Money on Amazon on April 8. According to the source material, the book named Star Xu and claimed that in 2015 he fabricated a contract dispute and reported Huobi founder Li Lin to Chinese police.

On April 9, Star Xu answered with multiple posts on X, calling CZ a “habitual liar” and listing what he said were falsehoods in the book. Those claims covered CZ’s OKCoin employment history, a contract dispute involving Roger Ver, alleged market manipulation methods, and even his marital status. CZ then responded by demanding that Star Xu apologize “like a man,” pushing the argument into a more public and personal phase.

He Yi’s post centers on six points

In her statement, He Yi laid out six accusations. The first concerned Star Xu’s comments about the “1011 flash crash.” The source says that after a broad crypto market drop in October 2025, Binance released a report attributing the move to macro factors and a highly leveraged market structure. Star Xu, by contrast, publicly questioned that explanation and said Binance’s promotion of USDe was the real cause. He Yi said this was an attempt to shift blame and muddy the issue.

Her second point was that Star Xu framed the Meme activity on BNB Chain as market manipulation by Binance. The third and fourth points accused him of using paid online accounts to attack competitors and of using bigger platforms and names to draw attention to himself. The fifth point described what she called a pattern of repeated public attacks, saying this was the fifth time he had openly targeted Binance.

Her strongest response addressed gendered attacks

The sixth allegation carried the strongest language in the post. He Yi said Star Xu “really knows how to attack a career woman,” arguing that he was using gendered assumptions and doubts about female independence to weaken her credibility. She answered that directly, writing that her position was not given by anyone else and that she built her own career herself.

The source notes that before 2015, He Yi worked at OKCoin in charge of marketing and brand communications. She later left after disagreements with Star Xu’s management style and then went on to co-found Binance with CZ. That history has added another layer to the current exchange. As of the source material, there was no new public response from OKX.
