Binance has launched a national Web3 support initiative in Ukraine called Digital Resilience Lab, committing up to $500,000 in grant funding to help strengthen the country’s digital infrastructure and blockchain innovation pipeline. The program is being developed with Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation, Web3 Institute, and Lviv IT Cluster, with a focus on improving digital resilience through capital, mentorship, and ecosystem access.
Designed for early-stage Web3 solutions
According to the announcement, Digital Resilience Lab targets early-stage ideas that use blockchain, digital technologies, and Web3 tools to solve real-world problems. Binance CEO Richard Teng said on X that the company would back practical Web3 projects, with individual grants of up to $25,000 available for top applicants.
Binance said the initiative goes beyond direct funding. Selected participants will also receive mentoring, technical support, and access to the company’s global Web3 network. The program is open to students, veterans, and entrepreneurs, aiming to support skills development, retraining opportunities, and scalable digital solutions.
Selection process includes public voting
Digital Resilience Lab will use a multi-stage selection framework intended to improve transparency and community engagement. Applicants will first submit proposals, after which shortlisted projects will be evaluated based on feasibility, relevance, and potential impact. A public voting stage will then be included before final decisions are made. In the end, the top 20 projects will receive funding, mentorship, and ecosystem support.
The structure of the initiative combines private-sector capital, government coordination, technical expertise, and research-led mentoring. That model is designed to support scalable innovation across critical sectors and could help expand Ukraine’s domestic Web3 capacity over time.
Part of a broader push into real-world crypto use
The source material also noted that Binance Pay has now reached more than 21 million merchants, underscoring the company’s wider push toward real-world crypto adoption. Together with the Ukraine initiative, this suggests Binance is working on both ecosystem building and practical deployment, linking blockchain infrastructure with broader economic use cases.
Overall, Digital Resilience Lab represents more than a grant pool. It is a broader support framework built around funding, capacity development, and ecosystem connectivity. If the selected projects gain traction, the program could help strengthen Ukraine’s position in digital resilience and blockchain-driven innovation.
