Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, today confirmed it will delist eight tokens effective April 1, 2026. The tokens removed are Arena-Z (A2Z), Ampleforth Governance Token (FORTH), Hooked Protocol (HOOK), IDEX (IDEX), Loopring (LRC), Neutron (NTRN), Radiant Capital (RDNT), and Solar (SXP). Minutes after the announcement, most tokens suffered double-digit drops: A2Z lost over 16% and IDEX plunged more than 17%.
Why These Tokens Got the Axe
Binance conducts periodic reviews assessing each project's development activity, trading volume, community health, and security record. Projects failing to meet standards are removed. Radiant Capital (RDNT) struggled after a $50 million hack in late 2024 and never fully recovered. A week ago, Binance had already applied "Watch Labels" to some of these coins, signaling elevated risk. Now the decision is final — reputation alone no longer guarantees a listing.
Key Dates to Act On
Holders of the delisted tokens face strict deadlines. Margin borrowing stops March 19; all futures positions are auto-closed March 24. Tokens in Simple Earn or Mining Pools will be removed between March 24 and March 25. Spot trading ends at 03:00 UTC on April 1, 2026. Users can withdraw tokens to external wallets until June 1, 2026. After that, Binance may attempt to convert remaining holdings into stablecoins, but conversion is not guaranteed.
Critical warning: Missing the withdrawal window could result in assets being locked or converted at unfavorable rates. The conversion process is not promised, and any converted amount may not reflect the prior market value.
Market Standards Are Tightening
The delisting signals a maturing crypto market. Legacy coins like Loopring once enjoyed a safe spot due to brand recognition alone. Today, the bar has moved: insufficient liquidity or weak developer activity can trigger removal. Ripple effects are likely, with smaller exchanges expected to follow Binance's lead. Teams behind these eight projects now need new strategies to sustain their ecosystems. For investors, the lesson is clear — monitor Watch Labels and move assets before risk becomes reality.
