Campaign Overview
According to ChainCatcher, Binance Futures will launch a trading fee discount campaign for U (United Stables) perpetual contracts starting July 2, 2026 at 18:00 UTC. The first contracts participating are BTCU and ETHU, both denominated in United Stables (U). During the campaign period, all users from regular to VIP 9 will enjoy zero maker fees when trading any U perpetual contract.
Fee Details
For taker fees, discounts are tiered based on user VIP level: Regular users to VIP 3 receive a 20% discount (i.e., 80% of the original taker rate), while VIP 4 to VIP 9 receive a 50% discount (i.e., 50% of the original taker rate). This significantly reduces trading costs for high-volume takers, especially at higher VIP tiers.
Market Impact
By introducing zero maker fees and taker discounts specifically for U series perpetual contracts, Binance aims to attract market makers and traders to improve liquidity and order book depth. Compared to mainstream perpetual pairs like BTCUSDT or ETHUSDT, the U series likely has thinner depth currently. This promotion could rapidly narrow the gap.
Competing exchanges offering similar U contracts may feel pressured to match or exceed these fee incentives. For traders, the reduced costs enable more cost-effective high-frequency strategies and market-making operations on BTCU and ETHU.
Important Notes
The campaign starts at 18:00 UTC on July 2, 2026. No end date has been announced yet – users should monitor official Binance announcements. The zero maker fee applies exclusively to U perpetual contracts; other contracts are unaffected. VIP level is calculated based on 30-day trading volume and holdings on Binance Futures. Users can check their VIP tier in their account settings.
Risk reminder: Perpetual contract trading carries high risk. The fee discount does not constitute investment advice. Users should manage positions according to their own risk tolerance.
