Binance has opened a GALA spot trading tournament with a prize pool of up to 150,000 USDC. The event began on May 8, 2026 and runs for one week, ending at 15:30 on May 15. Eligible pairs are GALA-USDT and GALA-USDC.
Early activity carries a higher score multiplier
The competition uses an “Early Bird Boost” system. Daily scores are based on trading volume, but that volume is multiplied by a factor that starts higher and declines over time. Traders who enter earlier can gain more points from the same activity. To qualify, participants need at least $500 equivalent trading volume during the event, and both buy and sell orders count.
Binance says the top-ranked trader will receive 7,500 USDC in token vouchers. Rewards also extend to the top 1,000 participants, while the remaining eligible users can share a broader pool. Distribution is scheduled by May 29, 2026, and vouchers expire 21 days after they are issued.
Price and volume surged alongside the campaign
At the same time, GALA posted a 18% gain over 24 hours, reaching $0.00443. Trading volume climbed 429% to $236 million. The source article linked the move not only to the Binance event, but also to broader developments around the token.
One of those developments was Gala Games’ expansion into the Chinese gaming market. According to the report, the company recently launched Shrapnel through a regulated framework, opening access to 700 million new players. Item transfers in that system use GALA for gas fees, which the article described as a new source of demand for the token.
Burn mechanics and key chart levels are also in focus
The report also pointed to a new burn system launched on April 30. Under the updated tokenomics structure, part of the network fee is distributed to participants and the rest is burned, adding a deflationary element. On price levels, the article said holding above $0.00411 could keep attention on the $0.00449 to $0.00500 range.
Short-term conditions still look stretched. The Relative Strength Index, or RSI, was cited at 85.92, a level associated with overbought conditions. If momentum from the trading tournament fades, the report said GALA could pull back toward the $0.00387 support zone.
