Binance said on Sept. 4 that it will list MarsCoin (MARSCOIN), a meme coin on BNB Chain, for spot trading with a Seed Tag applied. The announcement triggered a sharp market reaction before spot trading on Binance had even started. According to data cited in the source report, MARSCOIN hit a record high of $0.187564 at 10:26 UTC, 11 minutes after the listing notice was published at 10:15 UTC, and climbed about 49.85% within an hour. At one point, its market capitalization rose above $172.5 million. The report said MARSCOIN later pulled back to $0.18, down 8.8% from the peak, while still posting a 24-hour gain of 58%. It also cited 24-hour trading volume at $124 million, with activity concentrated on PancakeSwap, Gate, and MEXC because Binance spot pairs were not yet visible at press time. The planned pairs were reported as USDT, USDC, and Turkish lira. This is the third Binance-related move involving MARSCOIN in a little over a month, following its July 30 listing on Binance Alpha and the launch of a MARSCOINUSDT perpetual contract with up to 20x leverage on Sept. 1. The source also noted that MARSCOIN has drawn attention in Chinese-speaking crypto circles partly because of an earlier Lookonchain report tied to CZ’s public wallet activity.

Binance announced on Sept. 4 that it will list MarsCoin (MARSCOIN), a meme coin on BNB Chain, for spot trading and apply a Seed Tag to the token.

The market reacted almost immediately. According to CoinGecko data cited in the source report, MARSCOIN reached a record high of $0.187564 at 10:26 UTC, 11 minutes after Binance published the listing notice at 10:15 UTC. The token rose about 49.85% within an hour, lifting its market capitalization above $172.5 million. The report also said its 24-hour gain reached 66.6% at one stage.

By press time, MARSCOIN had pulled back to $0.18, down 8.8% from the intraday high, while still showing a 24-hour gain of 58%.

Spot trading had not started on Binance at press time

Binance’s announcement was published under the headline 「Binance Will List MarsCoin (MARSCOIN) with Seed Tag Applied」. The source report said the planned spot pairs were MARSCOIN against USDT, USDC, and the Turkish lira.

Even so, the report said no MARSCOIN spot pairs were visible on Binance’s trading list at press time, indicating that spot trading had not yet gone live. In other words, the price surge followed the announcement itself rather than actual spot trading on Binance.

Trading activity was still concentrated on PancakeSwap, Gate, and MEXC.

24-hour volume reached $124 million

The report put MARSCOIN’s 24-hour trading volume at $124 million and said the token ranked No. 188 on CoinGecko. It added that the volume was equal to about 66% of market capitalization, implying that nearly two-thirds of the token’s market value changed hands within a day.

On supply, the report said MARSCOIN has a circulating supply of 1 billion tokens and a total supply of 1 billion, meaning the full supply is already in circulation. Under that structure, its market capitalization is the same as its fully diluted valuation, with no future unlock overhang mentioned in the report.

Seed Tag marks early-stage projects

The Seed Tag in Binance’s notice is a risk label used for early-stage projects. According to the report, users must complete a risk quiz before they can trade tokens carrying that label. Binance also reviews those assets on a regular basis and may remove the tag or move a token to its monitoring list.

Third Binance-related move in a little over a month

This is not the first time MARSCOIN has moved on Binance-related news. The source report outlined three developments over a little more than a month:

  • On July 30, Binance Alpha listed MARSCOIN.
  • On Sept. 1 at 8:45 UTC, Binance Futures launched the MARSCOINUSDT perpetual contract with up to 20x leverage, which the report said also drove a gain of more than 40%.
  • On Sept. 4, Binance announced the upcoming spot listing.

The report described the Sept. 4 notice as Binance’s third move involving MARSCOIN during that period.

Attention in Chinese-speaking markets partly tied to CZ-related trading episode

The source also said MARSCOIN’s visibility in Chinese-speaking crypto communities has been shaped in part by Zhao Changpeng, also known as CZ. BlockTempo had reported in August that on-chain tracker Lookonchain reconstructed a trader’s strategy of watching CZ’s public wallet. According to that earlier report as summarized here, the trader bought MARSCOIN in the same second that CZ burned 4,444 MARSCOIN and made about $282,000 in profit within hours.

Binance spot launch time still not shown

On the question of when MARSCOIN spot trading would begin, the source report’s answer was straightforward: no MARSCOIN pairs were visible on Binance at press time, so the market had not opened there yet. The roughly 50% move followed the Sept. 4 listing notice, while most trading volume remained on PancakeSwap, Gate, and MEXC.
