Binance said it has begun the first phase of restoring withdrawals after a hack involving about $6.3 billion in funds, with the Bitcoin network reopened first. The exchange had suspended user withdrawals following Thursday’s attack, which the FBI blamed on North Korean operatives. In posts on X, Binance said withdrawals would return in stages and that availability would expand progressively. The company said it is prioritizing tokens based on user demand data from the past week, while completing stability and security checks before each network and asset pair is brought back online. Binance also told users to check the withdrawal page for their chosen asset and network, or use its network status page to confirm whether service is available. During the phased rollout, the exchange warned that congestion, longer processing times and temporary delays may occur, and said users should try again later if a withdrawal fails. Cointelegraph had reported on Saturday that Binance said it had replenished 90% of the assets stolen in the hack, up from 80% a day earlier, and was still on track to resume withdrawals on Sunday.

Binance said it has started the first phase of restoring withdrawals after a hack involving about $6.3 billion in funds, reopening the Bitcoin network first.

The exchange had suspended user withdrawals after Thursday’s attack, which the FBI blamed on North Korean operatives.

Bitcoin network reopened first

In a post on X, Binance said: “First batch network now opened in phase one of withdrawals is $BTC bitcoin network.”

In an earlier X announcement on Sunday, the company said withdrawal services would return in phases and become progressively available. It added that updates would be posted on its official X channel.

Rollout tied to user demand data

Binance said it is using a phased approach and prioritizing tokens based on user demand data from the past week. The company said each network and asset pair would be restored carefully, with stability and security checks completed before access is reopened.

Users were told to check the withdrawal page for their selected asset and network, or visit the Binance network status page to confirm whether service is available.

Congestion and delays expected

During the phased rollout, Binance said users may face congestion, longer processing times and temporary delays. If a withdrawal is unsuccessful, the exchange said users should try again after a short while.

Cointelegraph reported on Saturday that Binance said it had replenished 90% of the assets stolen in the hack, up from 80% a day earlier, and remained on track to resume withdrawals on Sunday.
