Binance Research said in its October market report that the crypto market expanded in September even as two headwinds hit the sector: the Federal Reserve’s first rate hike since 2023 and the failure of the CLARITY Act to pass. According to the report, total crypto market capitalization still climbed 11% to $2.99 trillion during the month.
The report also said spot Bitcoin ETFs posted $3.49 billion in net inflows in September. That pushed 2026 net flows back into positive territory for the first time on Sept. 23. Binance Research highlighted the ETF flow reversal as one of the notable developments during the month.
On Bitcoin’s market structure, the report said BTC confirmed a golden cross on Sept. 8, with the 50-day moving average crossing above the 200-day moving average. The gap between the two averages has since widened to about $7,500. Binance Research added that, historically, this kind of deep reset has often been followed by a stronger recovery.
